The Ninth Sunday After Pentecost | Ponder & Praise
7.21.24 | Ephesians 1:1-14 | Fr. Benji Davis
Ponder & Praise | Ephesians Series 1
Look no longer for your end.
Look only for the means to seek it out.
Your end is glorifying God above
here below, bringing it to bear.
His light of utmost power
is unfailingly paired with grace.
He chooses you so small
to channel His Divine Wisdom.
What foolishness to use such faulty hands.
What a poor apprentice am I.
Yet through my fumbling hands the master
shows His mastery, pick up
my botched artistry
and making craftsmanship.
Blessed is He, worthy of radiant worship.
He gifts us Heaven and we sling forth praise
that should not bear to be constrained,
that should not cease in fierce refrain.
With seal unbroken we are claimed
inheritors of Christ’s domain.
I loved the seal imagery, too!
